The West Hallam Scarecrow Trail is an annual event coinciding with West Hallam’s Well Dressing Week. It is well established as a firm favourite in the village calendar - the first one having taken place in July 2009. The event provides lots of fun and community involvement and at the same time raises funds for a number of local good causes.

Founder of the West Hallam Scarecrow Trail, Peter Lilley, has decided after many years to hang up his straw hat. Many thanks to Peter for all his fantastic work in the community. We now find ourselves the proud owners of a scarecrow trail!

As Peter has told us, it’s time for a shake-up. We have a new Facebook page and email address.

We also have a new mascot, and we need your help naming it, please visit our Facebook page to vote.

Due to holiday commitments we will be running things slightly differently this year. The theme is “Anything Goes!”

· Send us your entry details by Friday 5th of July (scarecrow name, address).

· Put up your scarecrow by Saturday the 13th of July, Well Dressing Saturday.

· Trail leaflets will be downloadable from our Facebook page.

· Don’t forget to send us a photo of your entry.
